The guided tour will begin on Paseo de Gracia. The Paseo de Gracia area in Barcelona is renowned for being one of the city's most emblematic districts, housing several architectural masterpieces by Antoni Gaudí. This district, known as Eixample, was designed in the 19th century to address Barcelona's urban growth, expanding beyond medieval walls.
Here, you'll have the opportunity to admire the facades of the famous Gaudí houses, such as Casa Batlló and Casa Milà (also known as La Pedrera). These are prominent examples of Catalan Modernism, an artistic and architectural movement that flourished in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The innovative design and organic forms of Gaudí's works in this area reflect his unique style and influence on Barcelona's architectural identity. We will also have the opportunity to discuss the rest of the modernist houses that make up what is known as the Block of Discord.
The tour will continue by visiting his incomplete yet nonetheless impressive work, Antoni Gaudí's Sagrada Familia. Antoni Gaudí's Sagrada Familia was left unfinished due to the architect's premature death in 1926. Gaudí devoted over 40 years to this monumental project, aiming to convey spirituality and nature through his innovative architectural style, blending Gothic and modernist elements. The organic and detailed forms of the Sagrada Familia reflect Gaudí's profound inspiration from nature and his quest for a unique and spiritual architecture.
If you're left wanting more, you have the option to extend the tour by 2 hours and add a guided visit to Park Güell, a public park also designed by Gaudí which will also leave you speechless with its beauty and inspiration drawn from nature itself.
