Your Sagrada Familia semi-private group tour begins with a meet and greet just next to the basilica. There, you will be able to take advantage of the unobstructed view of Gaudi’s creation. Your guide will share the history behind this architectural wonder, Gaudi’s life, and his inspirations.
Wanting to share the story of the Bible with his fellow citizens, Gaudi made the bold move of depicting its stories on the façades of Sagrada Familia. The side facing east, illustrates the Birth of Christ and his 33 years of life on Earth. The opposite façade shows the 12 Stations of the Cross and Christ’s ascension into Heaven. Facing the south is the yet-to-be-decorated façade that will show the Final Judgment and the Glory of God.
Once inside, enjoy the glory of its awe-inspiring interior and its soaring ceilings. Be prepared to be captivated by the expressive architecture which was designed to simulate a forest – a place of nature where Gaudi felt closest to God. See the light beaming through the colorful stained glass windows and feel the atmosphere of the enchanted forest made of stone.
