You will start your day 4,000 feet above sea level, in the spectacular Montserrat National Park. In this area, you will have the chance to explore some of the beautiful nature trails, admire the jaw-dropping 360º views of the countryside below, and take amazing pictures sure to make the people back home feel jealous. While at Montserrat, you can also visit the Benedictine Santa Maria monastery the Museum of Montserrat and the Sant Miquel view point. This fantastic display of gothic architecture is over 1,000 years old and can be found nestled halfway up the mighty Montserrat mountain. You must also visit the Basilica, home to the famous statue of the Black Madonna, patron saint of Catalonia. Here you can also see fantastic artifacts and painting from the great El Greco.

If you are lucky enough to be visiting Montserrat on a weekday, then you can sit in on a performance from the Escolania all-boys choir. This is the oldest boy’s choirs in the whole of Europe, and a great tradition in this area of Spain. If you have a little extra time at this point in the tour, then you can also pay a visit to the Montserrat audiovisual museum to hear all about the monks that used to call this mountain home.

After an exhilarating morning in the mountains, your driver will then take you down to the world-famous Sant Sadurni d’Anoia area. Sant Sadurni d’Anoia has over 450 years of winemaking experience, and the biggest underground wine cellars in the world, where the first bottle of Cava was made. Once you have had your fill of the bubbly stuff, you will head back to your Welcome car, and your driver will take you on a lazy afternoon drive back to your accommodation in Barcelona.
