Your Itinerary

1

Your tour begins at the Musée d'Orsay

Meet your guide outside the main entrance of the Musée d'Orsay. Then, before heading inside, have a quick chat about your interests and what you’re most eager to see. This is your tour, after all, so the visit is tailored to you.

2

Skip the long ticket lines into a Beaux-Arts station

Walk straight past the long ticket lines with reserved entry into the Musée d'Orsay. Built as a railway station for the 1900 World's Fair, this Beaux-Arts landmark on the Seine now holds Paris's finest Impressionist art.

3

Face Manet's provocative Olympia

Stand before Édouard Manet's Olympia, the reclining nude that scandalized Paris in 1865. Your guide explains why this direct, unflinching portrait broke every rule of the day and helped ignite the modern art movement.

4

Explore Monet's light-filled masterpieces

Move into the Impressionist galleries to see Claude Monet at his best. Take in the breezy Poppy Field of 1873, the ambitious Luncheon on the Grass, and Camille on Her Deathbed, a raw tribute painted after his wife died.

5

Gaze at Van Gogh's Starry Night Over the Rhône

Follow your guide to Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night Over the Rhône, painted in Arles in 1888. Learn how he captured gaslight shimmering on the water and the constellations above, years before his more famous starry sky.

6

Study post-Impressionism with Cézanne and Gauguin

Discover how artists pushed past Impressionism in the upper galleries. Study Paul Cézanne's The Card Players, a quiet scene of concentration, then meet Gauguin's Arearea, glowing with the bold colors of his time in Tahiti.

7

Take in Renoir and Caillebotte

Admire Renoir's Bal du Moulin de la Galette, a sunlit Montmartre dance scene full of movement. Nearby, Caillebotte's The Floor Scrapers shows working men planing a parquet floor, a bold, realistic subject for its era.

8

Your tour ends inside the Musée d'Orsay

Say au revoir to your private guide inside the museum, then stay as long as you like. Wander back to your favorite works, climb to the giant glass clock for skyline views, or pause at the café before heading into Paris.
